Actor Tenkobo criticizes late Mr Ibu’s wife for soliciting funds online

Fred Ebere, known as Tenkobo, has criticized Stella Maris Okafor for seeking public financial support, accusing her of mismanaging the estate of her late husband, Mr Ibu.

Nigerian comedian Fred Ebere, widely known as Tenkobo, has publicly challenged Stella Maris Okafor, the widow of late Nollywood icon Mr Ibu, regarding her recent online appeals for financial assistance. In a video released by influencer King Mitchy, Stella claimed she was struggling to cover school fees and rent. Tenkobo, who maintained a long-term personal and professional relationship with the late actor, condemned her actions, suggesting she is exploiting her husband’s reputation for personal gain.

Tenkobo alleged that Stella and other family members liquidated many of Mr Ibu’s investments, including various landed properties and homes, while he was still alive and after his passing. He questioned why the widow has not sought employment or vocational work, arguing that her public pleas unfairly portray the late actor as someone who failed to provide for his family or plan for the future. During a discussion involving the late actor’s eldest son, Valentine Okafor, Tenkobo reiterated that Mr Ibu had indeed invested his earnings wisely.

The actor further disputed claims made by Stella regarding the family structure, noting that Mr Ibu had several children, contrary to the narrative presented in her viral video. Tenkobo urged the public to recognize that Mr Ibu had been a responsible provider who supported his family extensively. He concluded by demanding accountability regarding the proceeds from the properties the family reportedly sold, asserting that the widow’s ongoing online solicitations are damaging the late actor’s legacy.
