Houthi Chief Issues Saudi Warning and Targets Israeli Presence in Somaliland

Houthi leader Abdul-Malik Badr al-Houthi has threatened military action against Saudi Arabia and vowed to strike Israeli positions in Somaliland to prevent regional dominance.

Abdul-Malik Badr al-Houthi, leader of the Yemeni Ansar Allah movement, has issued a sharp caution to Saudi Arabia, indicating that the nation could become a target for military strikes if it ignores their requirements. During a speech delivered on Thursday, al-Houthi claimed the Saudi government is aligning its policies with those of the United States against Yemen.

The leader stated that the Yemeni population rejects the ongoing blockade, occupation, and aggression linked to the U.S. and Saudi Arabia. He promised that his forces would persist in their efforts to stop what he described as unjust treatment, aiming to restore Yemen’s national autonomy and assets. Furthermore, al-Houthi addressed the growing ties between Israel and the Horn of Africa state of Somaliland. He accused Israel of seeking to dominate the Bab el-Mandeb Strait and the Gulf of Aden to gain control over the Red Sea region. Consequently, the Houthi leader threatened to launch attacks against any Israeli assets established in Somaliland, following a recent diplomatic visit to Israel by Somaliland President Abdirahman Mohamed Abdullahi.
