NECO Unveils 2026 BECE Outcomes and Announces Re-sit Dates

NECO has released the 2026 BECE results for over 186,000 candidates and set July 22 and 23 as the dates for re-sit examinations in English and Mathematics.

The National Examinations Council (NECO) has officially published the 2026 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) results. Across the 36 Nigerian states, the Federal Capital Territory, and five international locations, 186,291 students registered to sit for the 12-subject assessment. The testing period ran from April 20 through April 30, 2026.

Following an evaluation meeting at the NECO headquarters in Minna, Niger State, officials confirmed the release of the scores. Dr. Folake Olatunji David, representing Education Minister Dr. Maruf Tunji Alausa, oversaw the committee proceedings and commended the administrative execution of the exams. School principals and management representatives were present during this session.

Students who faced challenges in Mathematics or English Studies have been granted a second chance. The board scheduled a re-sit examination for July 22 and 23, 2026. This initiative allows candidates to rectify specific subject deficiencies, ensuring they can progress to Senior Secondary School (SSS1) without having to repeat their previous academic year.
