Alfie Haaland Addresses Guardiola Departure and Maresca Appointment

Alfie Haaland reflects on the departure of Pep Guardiola and the expected arrival of Enzo Maresca as the new manager of Manchester City.

Alfie Haaland, the father of Manchester City forward Erling Haaland, recently stated that Pep Guardiola is irreplaceable. Following Guardiola’s exit from the Premier League side last season, the club is preparing for a transition.

Enzo Maresca, who previously managed Chelsea until his dismissal in January, is expected to take the helm at Manchester City. Alfie shared his thoughts with RMC, noting that while no coach can truly fill Guardiola’s shoes, the team is entering a fresh phase. He described Maresca as a solid pick despite a challenging prior campaign and expressed optimism regarding his working relationship with Erling. He emphasized that although the club faces the end of a unique era, they remain focused on performing at the highest level.
