Dewi Lake will retain the captaincy for the summer fixtures, leading a side that includes lock Teddy Williams, who is back in action following a long-term foot injury. Because the match falls outside the official World Rugby window, coach Steve Tandy is unable to select 13 players based in England and France. Consequently, the team features eight changes from the lineup that secured a victory over Italy in March.
The match serves as preparation for the upcoming Nations Championship opener against Fiji on 4 July. Following that, Wales will face test matches against Argentina and South Africa.
