A detachment of fully armed men of the Nigerian Police on Friday morning, August 2, forcefully dispersed a group of protesters that converged at the popular Berger roundabout in Abuja for Day 2 of the End Bad Governance protest.

Some passers-by and motorists who were caught off-guard could be heard accusing the police of high-handedness.

An Abuja high court had on Wednesday granted an injunction confining the protesters to the MKO Abiola National Stadium. This morning the protesters chose to gather at the roundabout on grounds that some thugs were drafted to the MKO stadium on Thursday to disrupt their protest.
