The Nigeria Customs Service at TinCan Island Port achieved a total revenue of N111.2 billion throughout May 2026. This figure cements the command’s reputation as a leader within the national service. Comptroller Joseph Anani, the recently appointed Customs Area Controller, announced these figures on Wednesday while meeting with journalists at the command office.
Anani attributed this financial success to the hard work of his staff, increased cooperation from industry stakeholders, and heightened operational effectiveness. Looking ahead, the controller aims to improve these results by enforcing existing regulations more strictly and integrating advanced technology to speed up trade processes.
He underscored that the Nigeria Customs Service Act 2023 will serve as the foundation for all activities at the port. Enforcement will be conducted in a fair and professional manner. Furthermore, Anani recognized the media as essential partners in maintaining transparency and pledged to improve communication channels through the command’s public relations office.
The controller thanked Comptroller-General Bashir Adewale Adeniyi for the appointment and expressed support for the ongoing modernization reforms within the agency. He finished by urging members of the press to maintain high ethical standards to keep public confidence in the maritime sector strong.
