Leeds United have reached an agreement on a long-term contract with Fulham attacker Harry Wilson, marking the club’s inaugural summer signing. The 29-year-old Welsh international, who has earned 69 caps for his country, will join on a free transfer once his current deal expires next week. The transaction is pending a successful medical examination and final paperwork.
Securing Wilson is a significant achievement for the Yorkshire side, as they overcame interest from other top-flight clubs to land their target. Leeds previously attempted to acquire the player during last summer’s transfer deadline, though that effort was unsuccessful.
For Fulham, losing Wilson is a substantial setback. The club made multiple contract offers to retain their player of the season, who proved his value with 11 goals and eight assists across 38 appearances last campaign. Wilson originally transferred to Craven Cottage from Liverpool in 2021 for a fee of £12 million. Fulham are currently searching for a new manager after Marco Silva left for Benfica, with reports suggesting they are near a deal to hire former Liverpool defender Alvaro Arbeloa.
