Paul Ibe, media adviser to former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, has publicly requested that President Bola Tinubu resign from his position. During an appearance on ARISE NEWS, Ibe argued that the current administration has neglected its fundamental duties regarding national safety and citizen welfare.
Ibe emphasized that stepping down should be viewed as a patriotic gesture rather than an admission of inadequacy. He challenged the government’s progress claims by pointing to frequent reports of kidnappings and violence across various states, including recent fatalities in Plateau, Benue, Oyo, and Kogi.
He further characterized the administration as incompetent, asserting that the president lacks the necessary preparation for the complexities of governing Nigeria. Addressing the push for state police, Ibe suggested that while the concept has merit, the current timing indicates that the push is driven by political agendas rather than genuine reform ahead of the 2027 elections.
