Nigeria Police Launch Health Initiative to Boost Personnel Well-being

The Nigeria Police Force has launched the Know Your Number health campaign in Kwara State to detect preventable conditions and improve officer wellness.

The Nigeria Police Force has introduced the Know Your Number health campaign in Kwara State to address medical issues affecting officer welfare and operational capacity. Led by the Director of Force Medical Services, AIG Nkechi Ifeoma Eze, the program focuses on reducing sudden health emergencies and fatalities among staff.

This initiative aligns with the vision of Inspector-General of Police Olatunji Rilwan Disu, who seeks to cultivate a more resilient workforce. During sensitization sessions, AIG Eze warned that untreated hypertension, diabetes, and prostate cancer remain significant risks. She stressed that frequent screening and early diagnosis are vital for survival.

The campaign encourages officers to monitor their health metrics consistently. As part of the rollout, medical teams provided free blood pressure and blood sugar assessments at the command. Kwara State Commissioner of Police Ojo Adekimi praised the effort, emphasizing that improved health is necessary for better service delivery. This update was confirmed by command spokesperson SP Adetoun Ejire-Adeyemi in Ilorin.
