President Bola Tinubu has formally commended Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, for his persistent focus on infrastructure development, noting that project execution is clearly innate to the Minister. Speaking at the commencement ceremony for the Southern Parkway service carriageways, which stretch from Arterial Road S20 to Ring Road II, Tinubu lauded Wike for replicating the developmental success he achieved in Rivers State within the capital city.
Represented by APC National Chairman Nentawe Yilwatda, the President highlighted that since taking office, Wike has revitalized stalled projects and demonstrated remarkable political will. By implementing the Renewed Hope Agenda, the Minister has brought noticeable transformation to Abuja’s various districts. The President emphasized that the new service lanes are essential for reducing chronic traffic congestion in residential areas like Durumi, Gaduwa, and Jikwoyi, ultimately improving the daily lives and productivity of residents.
This initiative represents a key component of the administration’s broader infrastructure push across the FCT. Tinubu underscored that his government prioritizes tangible action over excuses, citing ongoing improvements in regions such as Kuje, Gwagwalada, and Mabushi. Once finished, these service lanes are expected to streamline traffic flow, shorten travel times, and accelerate economic growth throughout the southern sector of the capital.
