Warman Ogoriba, the Bayelsa State APC Chairman, has rejected demands for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to step down. During a press event in Yenagoa, he characterized these calls as typical political posturing and argued that the President has achieved a success rate exceeding 90 percent. Addressing concerns regarding party departures, such as that of Joshua Maciver, Ogoriba insisted that internal reconciliation is progressing effectively and that the party remains unified.
The chairman emphasized that the party intends to focus its upcoming campaigns on concrete government accomplishments rather than rival attacks. He highlighted significant infrastructural improvements, specifically the road to Oporoma and the direct route to Ekeremor, as clear evidence of progress. Furthermore, he noted that the administration is ensuring timely salary payments for civil servants and pensioners.
Defending the economic climate, Ogoriba maintained that the removal of fuel subsidies has led to higher state allocations and better salary structures. He also announced the relocation of the Bayelsa APC secretariat to a larger facility on Isaac Boro Expressway to support the party’s growth. Regarding the opposition, Ogoriba expressed total confidence in the party’s strength, stating that the APC remains focused on promoting its agenda and candidates rather than reacting to political competitors.
