Political analyst Segun Sowunmi claims the 2027 presidential election will be a contest between Bola Tinubu and Atiku Abubakar, projecting varied regional outcomes.

Political analyst Segun Sowunmi has suggested that the 2027 presidential election will likely be a head-to-head contest between President Bola Tinubu and Atiku Abubakar. While speaking on Arise Television, Sowunmi projected that Tinubu could potentially secure victories in 22 states.

Sowunmi anticipates that Tinubu will see improved performance in the Southeast and South-South regions compared to previous cycles. He also predicts strong outcomes for the president in the North-central and Northwest zones, attributing these shifts to the influence of key political figures and regional stakeholders. Regarding the Northeast, he noted that Vice President Kashim Shettima and regional governors will play a critical role in determining the outcome.

The analyst identified Northern regions as the areas where Tinubu might face challenges, despite analyzing the influence of various governors and power brokers. He specifically highlighted changing political dynamics in states like Katsina and Kano, noting how shifts in alliances among influential figures could impact the final results.
