George Hendy scored two late second-half tries to lead Northampton to a 26-17 victory over Exeter, securing their third Premiership Rugby title at Allianz Stadium.

Northampton clinched their third Premiership Rugby title after defeating Exeter 26-17 in the final held at Allianz Stadium. George Hendy proved to be the decisive factor, scoring two tries within a critical three-minute window during the second half to break the deadlock.

The match began with high intensity as Tommy Freeman capitalized on an early Exeter mistake to score for Northampton in the opening two minutes. Exeter responded quickly through Campbell Ridl. Northampton regained the lead courtesy of a Fin Smith try, but Josh Iosefa-Scott crossed the line just before halftime to keep Exeter within four points.

Tensions flared in the second half when Northampton’s Josh Kemeny received a yellow card. Exeter took advantage, with captain Dafydd Jenkins scoring to put the Chiefs ahead. However, momentum shifted back when Jenkins was also sent to the sin-bin. With the numerical advantage, Hendy struck twice in the 64th and 67th minutes to seal the victory for the Saints.

Despite an early injury to hooker Max Norey, Exeter remained competitive throughout much of the contest. Northampton ultimately demonstrated superior composure to maintain their lead and finish the season as champions.
