Soldiers from the 196 Amphibious Battalion, serving under Operation HADIN KAI, detained a woman suspected of assisting Boko Haram and ISWAP. The arrest occurred on May 20 at approximately 8:00 a.m. at a military checkpoint in the Kukawa Local Government Area of Borno State.
According to security analyst Zagazola Makama, the 50-year-old suspect, Kellu Alhaji Abba, was intercepted during a routine inspection. Authorities allege she was transporting provisions intended for her son, Modu Mustapha, who is reportedly associated with militant operations near Dumba. Among the items seized were four food packs, a pair of hijabs, and a wristwatch.
The suspect, a resident of Baga, is currently being questioned by the military to ascertain her precise role within the insurgent logistics network. While the broader security environment in the region remains stable, officials describe it as volatile, noting that troops continue to hold a firm operational stance.
