Nigeria Flamingos Ramp Up Training for Guinea World Cup Qualifier
The Nigeria U-17 women’s national team, the Flamingos, have stepped up their training regimen for the upcoming 2026 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup qualifiers against Guinea. Led by coach Akeem Busari, the squad traveled from Abuja to Ikenne on Sunday to further their match preparations.
As part of their ongoing strategy, the team is set to compete in a friendly match against Lakeside Queens this Thursday at the Remo Stars Stadium practice field.
This follows a successful initial training block in Abuja, where the team participated in five warm-up games.
The Flamingos anticipate additional practice matches before heading to Conakry for the first leg of the qualifier on Sunday, May 24.
The deciding return leg will take place at the Remo Stars Stadium in Ikenne one week later.
