President Tinubu Holds Talks with CAF Chief in Kenya
President Bola Tinubu and Confederation of African Football (CAF) President Patrice Motsepe met on Tuesday in Nairobi, Kenya. The discussion took place during the Africa Forward Summit.
The two leaders focused on enhancing partnerships between national governments, private investors, and the football community to foster progress in Nigeria and the broader African continent. CAF officially documented the encounter through a social media update on X.
Motsepe is currently in Kenya to attend the summit and coordinate activities for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations, which will be co-hosted by Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania.
President Tinubu arrived in Nairobi on Monday as part of a three-country diplomatic tour. His journey previously included a stop in France to engage with international investors regarding Nigeria’s economic policies.
The current summit, co-led by Presidents Emmanuel Macron and William Ruto, emphasizes topics such as climate action, digital transformation, and sustainable energy.
Following his time in Kenya, the President is scheduled to travel to Kigali, Rwanda, for the Africa CEO Forum. He is expected to conclude his trip and return to Nigeria before the APC presidential primary on May 23.
