Members of the Operation Whirl Stroke (OPWS) security team captured an alleged terrorist during a precise mission in the Gwer West Local Government Area of Benue State.

Security commentator Zagazola Makama announced the news via social media on Thursday.

Intelligence reports regarding a suspected criminal residing in the Tse Atu community prompted the mission on April 15, 2026. Responding to this tip, soldiers from Sector 1 OPWS, stationed in Anguhah and Umbagbo, conducted a rapid raid on the location.

The operation resulted in the arrest of one individual and the seizure of a motorcycle tied to the suspect.

Both the person and the vehicle remain held by authorities while officials look into the suspect’s potential criminal associations. Security forces are maintaining their efforts in the region to mitigate future threats.
