Three Killed, Many Injured In Lagos-Ibadan Expressway Auto Crash
A deadly road accident on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway on Tuesday has left three people dead and several others seriously injured.
The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) confirmed the incident in a statement shared on its official X page on Wednesday. The crash occurred near the Secretariat axis while vehicles were moving toward the Otedola Bridge.
According to the agency, the collision involved three vehicles and resulted in multiple casualties.
“Three vehicles were involved in the collision, resulting in three fatalities and several serious injuries,” the statement read.
Officials of the Lagos State Ambulance Service (LASAMBUS) were immediately deployed to the scene to provide urgent medical care to the injured. LASTMA personnel, alongside officers of the Nigerian Police Force, were also on ground to control traffic and ensure public safety.
LASTMA added that efforts are ongoing to clear the affected area and restore smooth vehicular movement.
Motorists were advised to drive cautiously when approaching the crash zone.
