Southampton Set To Offload Joe Aribo As Turkish Clubs Circle
Sky Bet Championship side Southampton are reportedly preparing to part ways with Nigerian midfielder Joe Aribo when the January transfer window opens.
Aribo has just six months remaining on his current contract, which means he will be eligible to begin negotiations with foreign clubs from next month. However, Southampton are keen to avoid losing him for nothing and are pushing for a January sale.
Reports from Saint News indicate that Turkish Super Lig outfits Göztepe and Trabzonspor are already monitoring the situation and have shown concrete interest in the Super Eagles star.
Southampton are said to have placed a €1.5 million price tag on the midfielder.
The 28-year-old has found opportunities hard to come by this season, managing only six appearances so far.
Aribo joined the Saints in 2022 after leaving Scottish giants Rangers.
