Former Beauty Queen Sentenced To Life For Murder Of Boyfriend’s Toddler Son
A former pageant contestant in the United States has been sentenced to life imprisonment for the killing of her boyfriend’s 18-month-old son.
Trinity Poague was convicted on Friday, Dec. 5, on five criminal counts, including two charges of felony murder. Delivering the judgment, Judge W. James Sizemore Jr. of the Southwestern Circuit Court in Georgia said a life sentence was the only fitting punishment for the crime.
“You will receive a sentence of life in prison, which is the appropriate sentence for the conduct you have been convicted of,” the judge ruled, adding that Poague will also serve an additional 20 years concurrently.
Poague, who remained composed during sentencing, had earlier broken down emotionally when the jury returned its guilty verdict.

She was first arrested in January 2024, following the discovery of the toddler, later identified as Romeo Angeles, also known as Jaxton Drew, lying unresponsive on the campus of Georgia Southwestern State University on January 14, 2024.
At the time of the incident, Poague was just 18 years old and a student at the institution.
