DSP Oluseyi Babaseyi Appointed as New PPRO Ogun State police Command
DSP Oluseyi Babaseyi stands on a sturdy blend of legal scholarship and frontline policing, carrying an LL.B from the Nigeria Police Academy in Wudil and a Barrister-at-Law qualification from the Nigerian Law School, Lagos. He also holds a Diploma in Law from Osun State University, rounding out an academic path that fuels his expertise in law enforcement, investigation, administration, and public engagement.
A proud member of the 1st Regular Course of the Police Academy, he has served across multiple operational, investigative, and administrative roles. His journey has taken him through assignments as Divisional Crime Officer in Monatan and Kajorepo Divisions, and as Officer-in-Charge of Ilaji and Lagelu Police Posts in Oyo State positions where he coordinated criminal investigations, guided personnel, and strengthened crime-prevention efforts.
His operational edge sharpened further with a three-year deployment to 22 PMF as Unit Commander. In 2023, after completing advanced training at the Nigerian Army School of Special Forces in Buni Yadi, he led officers in joint operations under Operation Hadin Kai across key theatres in Yobe and Borno.
Beyond field operations, he has proven his dexterity in strategic communication and police administration. He previously served as Deputy Public Relations Officer of the Lagos State Police Command and as Secretary to the Commissioner of Police, Lagos State roles that placed him at the heart of high-level management, public messaging, and command coordination. Until his new appointment as the Police Public Relations Officer for the Ogun State Command, he built a strong reputation for effective media engagement and information management.
