Osun NURTW Leader Shot Dead In Ilesa As Police Launch Investigation
A leader of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) in Osun State, Adeboye Ademoroti, has been shot dead by unknown assailants in Ilesa.
Security sources told Punch that Ademoroti—popularly called Germani—and another man were attacked late Tuesday, November 24, 2025, in the Olomilagbala area of the town.
Confirming the incident, the spokesperson for the Osun State Police Command, Abiodun Ojelabi, said a doctor in Ilesa reported that two men with gunshot wounds were brought to his hospital that night. One of them, later identified as Ademoroti, was already dead on arrival.
Ojelabi noted that police operatives immediately visited the crime scene, where spent cartridges were recovered.

“The deceased was the NURTW chairman for Unit 4, Ilesa,” he said. “The circumstances of the attack are still unclear. No arrest has been made yet, but our tactical team has been deployed to support officers already on ground.”
Meanwhile, Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke has condemned the rising wave of political violence across parts of Ijeshaland. In a statement by his spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, the governor ordered the Commissioner of Police to clamp down on political killings and warned politicians to avoid thuggery and bloodshed.
He urged political actors to respect the will of the people and allow peace to prevail as investigations into the killing continue.
