Colombian Singer Mayerly Díaz, 32, Dies After Complications From Cosmetic Procedure

Colombian singer Mayerly Díaz, known as “The Voice of Quipile,” has died at 32 after suffering a sudden heart attack reportedly linked to complications from a recent cosmetic procedure.

The mother of two underwent the procedure at a clinic in Bogotá in the early hours of Saturday, November 22. Shortly after, she suffered a medical emergency and was rushed to a hospital in Facatativá, where she passed away.

Díaz, originally from La Sierra in Quipile, balanced pop and local folk sounds, beginning her musical journey at age 14. Her recent works including “No Supiste Perder” and last week’s release “Con Tus Chiros a Otra Parte” had begun gaining regional traction.

Her manager, Néstor, remembered her as a humble talent whose voice carried the spirit of her people. Family and friends have filled social media with emotional tributes, mourning a life and voice lost far too soon.

Local media report that authorities in Cundinamarca have launched an immediate investigation into the circumstances surrounding her death.

The Mayor’s Office of Quipile also expressed deep condolences, calling her loss a painful moment for the entire community.
