Man Intercepted with Woman’s Corpse on Motorcycle in Ogun State
The Ogun State Police Command apprehended a motorcycle rider, identified as Godonu Lowe, on Wednesday, November 19, while he was transporting the corpse of a woman.
Acting on a tip-off, police intercepted the suspect and examined a sack secured to the back of his motorcycle. Inside the sack, officers discovered the body of an adult female, who was later confirmed to be Lowe’s wife.
The command reported that the deceased’s body showed marks of violence and was bleeding from the neck, suggesting foul play.
Authorities recovered a blood-stained cutlass from the crime scene. Lowe has been taken into custody as the prime suspect, and the victim’s remains were transported to the State Morgue in Ilaro for preservation and autopsy.
Commissioner of Police (CP) Lanre Ogunlowo praised the anonymous informant for their assistance. He called upon the public to continue supplying prompt and trustworthy information to aid police efforts in crime prevention and detection, stressing that reporting even minimal suspicion could save lives.
