According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA), FCT chapter, confirmed her release in a statement issued on Monday by its chairman, Dr. Emeka Ayogu.

Ayogu revealed that Nwachukwu was rescued late Sunday night in Gwagwalada and is currently receiving medical care.

“After nearly three weeks in captivity, Dr. Nwachukwu has been freed by her abductors,” he said. “She was safely rescued in Gwagwalada and is now receiving adequate medical attention.”

He added that the doctor would soon reunite with her family, expressing gratitude to all who offered prayers, support, and patience during the ordeal.

The NMA chairman also commended the efforts of security agencies and all stakeholders who contributed to the successful rescue, describing the development as “a collective victory for the NMA-FCT and the entire medical community.”
