Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, has pledged a ₦50 million cash reward to the Super Falcons ahead of their crucial second-leg 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) qualifier against the Amazons of Benin Republic in Abeokuta.

The governor made the announcement via a Facebook post on Tuesday, October 27, after hosting the national women’s team at his Oke-Mosan office in Abeokuta on Monday.

Abiodun stated, “We were delighted to welcome the Super Falcons of Nigeria to our office ahead of their second-leg WAFCON 2026 qualifier against the Amazons of Benin Republic. In appreciation of their outstanding performances and to further inspire them, we announced a ₦50 million support package to the team.”

He added that the team’s return to the MKO Abiola International Stadium in Abeokuta shows the success of the state’s continued investment in sports development.

“Their return to the MKO Abiola International Stadium shows that Ogun State is on the right track in promoting sports,” the governor said.
