Inter Milan are preparing a new and improved offer for Nigerian forward and reigning CAF Player of the Year, Ademola Lookman, as they push to secure his services ahead of the new season.
The 27-year-old has already agreed personal terms with the Nerazzurri, signaling his desire to make the move to the San Siro. However, Inter’s initial bid—believed to be a loan with an obligation to buy—was rejected by Atalanta.
Atalanta, who signed Lookman from RB Leipzig in 2022, are demanding a permanent transfer worth around €50 million. The club, nicknamed La Dea, view Lookman as a vital asset after his standout performances under manager Gian Piero Gasperini.
Negotiations are ongoing, with Inter expected to return this week with a revised proposal that comes closer to Atalanta’s valuation.
Reports also suggest that Lookman recently turned down an offer from Serie A champions Napoli, further emphasizing his preference for Inter Milan’s project.
Lookman’s pace, creativity, and goal-scoring ability have earned him praise across Italy, and former Golden Eaglets players and analysts have urged him to embrace the step up to a club of Inter’s stature.
