Governor Mutfwang Rewards Pilgrim With N1m for Returning Lost $5,000 During Hajj
Plateau State Governor, Caleb Mutfwang, has gifted N1 million to a pilgrim, Zainab Idris, for returning $5,000 to its rightful owner, a citizen of Tajikistan, during the 2025 Hajj in Saudi Arabia.
Idris, who hails from Plateau State, discovered the money during the pilgrimage and took the initiative to locate and return it to the owner.
The governor, represented by the Executive Secretary of the Muslim Pilgrim Welfare Board, Alhaji Dayyabu Dauda, presented the cash reward at the board’s office, commending her honesty and integrity. He explained that the gesture was to appreciate her exemplary conduct and support her business.
Similarly, a pilgrim identified as Malam Ayuku received a new phone from the governor for returning a lost iPhone during the Hajj.
“We are proud of these pilgrims for displaying good character. Before the journey, the governor urged everyone to be good ambassadors of the state, and they have proven him right,” Dauda said.
Governor Mutfwang also encouraged other citizens to emulate their actions and uphold integrity wherever they are.
In her response, Idris expressed gratitude to the governor, describing him as a father figure and noting that the reward would significantly boost her business.
