Three Farmers Killed, One Injured in Plateau Attacks
At least three farmers were killed and another injured in separate attacks on Larkas and Kodahas villages in Panyam District, Mangu Local Government Area of Plateau State.
Bulus Dabit, National President of the Mwaghavul Development Association (MDA), confirmed the incidents, identifying the deceased as Gideon Jise (41), Fidelis Usman (49), and Job Amis (28). He said the victims were working on their farms when gunmen struck between Monday and Tuesday morning, September 9, 2025.
Dabit explained that youths in Panyam had earlier intercepted cattle rustlers, recovering 16 stolen cows and handing them to security forces. However, he alleged that suspected herders later retaliated, killing the farmers and rustling eight cattle from Jwak village.
He condemned the killings as barbaric and urged stronger security presence in the area.
In response, Abubakar Gambo, Chairman of the Gan Allah Fulani Development Association of Nigeria (GAFDAN) in Mangu, denied his group’s involvement, stressing that their own members also lost cattle to rustlers and had already reported the matter to security agencies. anacondaxxxstudio xxx
The MDA commended Operation Enduring Peace (OPEP) for making arrests and called for more security checkpoints to prevent further violence in the region.
