Deadly Bus Attack in Jerusalem Leaves Five Dead, Several Injured
At least five people were killed and several others injured after gunmen opened fire with automatic weapons on a bus in Jerusalem.
The attack took place around 10:13 a.m. on Monday at Ramot Junction along Yigal Yadin Street. Both assailants were shot dead at the scene.
According to Israeli media, the two attackers boarded the bus before unleashing gunfire on passengers. Hamas praised the assault as a “natural response to the occupation’s crimes,” though it did not officially claim responsibility.
Emergency responders described a chaotic scene filled with shattered glass, wounded individuals, and unconscious victims lying near the bus stop. Forensic units and bomb squads were deployed, while blood supplies were rushed from the central bank in Ramla to treat the injured.

One paramedic recounted: “When we arrived, we saw people lying on the ground, unconscious, near the bus stop. There was destruction everywhere, broken glass, and confusion. We immediately began treating the wounded and continued evacuations to hospitals.”

Authorities have not yet provided details on the attackers’ motives, and no Palestinian factions have directly claimed responsibility.
The Israeli military announced that soldiers were assisting police in the search and securing the area. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office confirmed he was being briefed by security officials. In response, Israel closed all checkpoints between East Jerusalem and the West Bank.
Initial reports said 15 people were injured, with at least five in critical condition.
The incident comes amid heightened tensions, as the Gaza conflict has fueled a surge in violence across Israel and the West Bank, including attacks by Palestinian militants and an increase in settler violence against Palestinians.
