Everton Sign Jack Grealish on Season-Long Loan from Manchester City
Everton have reached an agreement with Manchester City to sign winger Jack Grealish on a season-long loan.
The 29-year-old has slipped down the pecking order at City, missing out on selection for both their final Premier League match of last season against Fulham and the Club World Cup in the United States.
According to BBC Sport sources, both clubs have finalised terms for the move, with Grealish — who is said to earn £300,000 per week — set to undergo a medical shortly.
The England international arrived at City from Aston Villa in August 2021 for a then-British record fee of £100m. Since then, he has made over 150 appearances, helping the club secure three Premier League titles, a Champions League, and an FA Cup.
Last season, however, Grealish started just seven league matches as City finished the campaign without a major trophy. He remained an unused substitute in the FA Cup final defeat to Crystal Palace, with 18-year-old Claudio Echeverri handed his debut instead.
Although Grealish was previously seeking a permanent transfer, he now appears set for a temporary switch. While he had hoped to join a Champions League club, no offers materialised from potential suitors such as Newcastle United or Tottenham Hotspur.
Everton’s move offers no European football, but it will provide Grealish with a platform to reignite his career and become a central figure at the club’s new Hill Dickinson Stadium.
The winger will also target a return to the England squad after admitting he was “heartbroken” to miss out on the 2024 European Championship.
