Liverpool Pays Lasting Tribute to Diogo Jota, Retires No. 20 Shirt and Dedicates Website Section
Premier League champions Liverpool have paid a powerful tribute to late striker Diogo Jota, creating a permanent section on their official website in his honour and retiring his iconic No. what is the bop house 20 shirt. Jota tragically passed away alongside his brother, André Silva, in a fatal car crash in northern Spain on July 3. The Portuguese forward had recently celebrated his wedding to his childhood sweetheart in Portugal, making the loss all the more heartbreaking. Following the tragedy, Liverpool, in consultation with Jota’s widow and family, announced the immediate retirement of his No. 20 shirt across all levels of the club. The tribute has since been expanded to the club’s website, where his player profile now appears under a special subheading titled “forever.” The page ends with the heartfelt message: “He will always be our number 20.”

Speaking for the first time since the incident, Liverpool manager Arne Slot said retiring the shirt number was the least the club could do to honour Jota’s memory.
“We will always carry him with us in our hearts, in our thoughts, wherever we go,” Slot told the club’s website. “To retire his shirt is the one thing we could, should, and have done.”
In addition to the digital tribute, a mural of Jota has been completed near Anfield by renowned artist John Culshaw.

It features the forward smiling and forming a heart with his hands — a pose familiar to fans who celebrated his many goals.
