Ola Aina Signs New Three-Year Deal With Nottingham Forest
Super Eagles defender Ola Aina has committed his long-term future to Nottingham Forest, signing a new three-year contract that will keep him at the club until 2028.
The 28-year-old, who had one year remaining on his previous deal, was a key figure in Forest’s successful 2024/25 campaign, which saw the club finish seventh in the Premier League and qualify for the UEFA Europa Conference League play-offs.
“I’m over the moon,” Aina said in an official club statement. “It’s always felt like home ever since I joined, and I’m happy to be here. Now my focus is on preparing for the new season and getting back to hard work.”
Club owner Evangelos Marinakis praised the Nigeria international’s contribution and character:
“Ola has skill, determination, and character in abundance. He epitomises the culture and hard work we expect from everyone associated with Forest. He’s had a big influence since his arrival, and we look forward to continuing that journey together.”
Aina originally joined Forest from Torino in July 2023 on a one-year deal after his contract with the Italian side expired. His performances in his debut season—primarily at left-back—played a major role in helping the club avoid relegation.
In May 2024, Forest activated a one-year extension clause in his contract. Now, with a fresh three-year deal, Aina remains an essential figure in Nuno Espírito Santo’s squad, shifting to the right side of defence in recent months.
The former Chelsea academy product has also continued to feature prominently for Nigeria, further cementing his reputation as one of Africa’s top full-backs.
As Forest prepare for European competition, Aina’s versatility and experience will be key assets in the seasons ahead.
