Judge Sets October 3 Sentencing For Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs Following Federal Conviction
The federal judge presiding over the high-profile case of music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs has scheduled October 3, 2025, as the official sentencing date, despite joint efforts by both prosecution and defense teams to move the hearing to an earlier date.
Combs, 55, was convicted last week on prostitution-related charges, though he was acquitted of sex trafficking and racketeering, the most serious charges brought against him.
The verdict, which marked a partial win for the embattled rapper and entrepreneur, reportedly drew applause from fellow inmates when Combs returned to the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn.
“They all said: ‘We never get to see anyone who beats the government,’” said defense attorney Marc Agnifilo in an interview with the Associated Press.
Although both legal teams initially filed to schedule sentencing for September 22, the defense later submitted a second letter suggesting a return to the court’s original date of October 3. The judge ultimately approved that date along with other procedural timelines.
Combs remains in custody after being denied bond following the conviction. He has now served approximately 10 months, time that will be credited toward whatever sentence is handed down in October.
Each of the two counts Combs was convicted of carries a maximum sentence of 10 years in federal prison.
The once-celebrated entertainment executive now faces the next chapter in what has become one of the most dramatic legal battles in the history of the hip-hop industry.
