Transfer: Arsenal Eye ‘Plan C’ In Striker Search As Sesko, Gyokeres Negotiations Stall

Arsenal are reportedly exploring a ‘Plan C’ in their search for a new striker this summer, as negotiations for top targets Benjamin Sesko and Viktor Gyokeres have hit a standstill.

The club had hoped to finalise a signing ahead of their pre-season tour to Singapore and Hong Kong in mid-July.

RB Leipzig’s Benjamin Sesko had emerged as Arsenal’s top choice to spearhead their attack next season, with early reports suggesting a £60 million fee might secure his signature.

However, the Bundesliga side is now insisting on a figure closer to Sesko’s £70 million release clause.

A similar scenario is unfolding with Viktor Gyokeres. While it was initially believed that Sporting CP could accept around £59 million, club president Frederico Varandas has denied any prior gentleman’s agreement.

The Portuguese champions are now demanding approximately £67 million — a price Arsenal are reluctant to meet, citing concerns over the 27-year-old’s limited resale value.
