Teenagers from Unity Model School in Asaba, Delta State, were reportedly made to sit for a WAEC exam late in the evening using torchlight due to a lack of electricity.

A video recorded by an unidentified woman shows the students writing in near darkness. She criticized the situation, claiming the exam was scheduled for 2 p.m. but papers arrived around 6 p.m., forcing the students to write in the dark.

“It’s not OK,” the woman said, recalling that even in her time with lanterns, such conditions were never experienced.
