EPL: Chelsea Makes Decision On Sacking Maresca If Team Fails To Qualify For Champions League
Chelsea is expected to retain Enzo Maresca as manager even if the team fails to secure Champions League qualification next season, according to ESPN.
The Blues are still in contention for a top-five Premier League finish and have a chance to win silverware when they face Real Betis in the Europa Conference League final on May 28.
While the club hierarchy would prefer a Champions League spot, Maresca will not face pressure if the team misses out or fails to win their first trophy since 2021.
Maresca signed a five-year contract last summer, and with a young squad in place, the club is prepared to remain patient with the Italian coach.
During his press conference on Thursday, Maresca said: “We didn’t speak about that to be honest.
“We didn’t have a conversation about if we are Champions League or if we are not Champions League.”
