Anthony Joshua has bid farewell to Nigeria with a message of appreciation, thanking the country for its “energy, generosity & kindness” during his visit. The two-time heavyweight champion, who had been in Nigeria to recover from an injury, shared the note on Instagram as he prepares to head back to England for his next fight. camila araujo leak

“Nigeria, thank you for your energy, generosity & kindness,”

Fans responded warmly, flooding his comments with support and well-wishes

Several fans then commented, wishing the 35-year-old success as he returns to the ring.

Gbadia Figheghawei wrote,

“Go and take over the world, my brother.”

Olumayowa Odejimi tipped Joshua for a third world championship reign, commenting,

“We are behind you champ 3x.”

Another user with the username @iamdx2 added,

“You have refuelled your energy, we want you to go and take back your world belts.”

Royal Diadem also commented on the enjoyable time Joshua had in the country.

“Nigerians know how to have a good time. AJ, you had a good time,” she wrote.

Anthony Joshua’s visit to Nigeria was nothing short of iconic. From his viral street-side haircut to walking freely among locals, the 35-year-old boxer fully immersed himself in the culture and won even more hearts along the way.

He paid a meaningful visit to his hometown, Sagamu, which lit up social media with excitement, and proudly showcased his heritage—symbolized by the Africa tattoo on his shoulder, with Nigeria highlighted. One standout moment was his appearance at Aliko Dangote’s birthday party, where he rubbed shoulders with Nigeria’s elite. Another fan-favorite was his lighthearted interaction with his personal chef, which also trended online.

As Joshua heads back to England, the focus now shifts to his return to the ring. After recovering from his injury following a knockout loss to Daniel Dubois last September, he’s gearing up for what may be the final chapter of his storied boxing career, according to promoter Eddie Hearn.

“This is the final year. Let’s not beat around the bush,” Hearn told Sky Sports recently. “He’s going to have somewhere between – it could always be your last fight – but one and three fights, that’s the reality of the situation.”
