The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) shared the viral video on X, showing the dramatic moment a motorist lay under his vehicle to prevent its arrest or towing by Vehicle Inspection Officers.

The incident, which happened on Wednesday, April 23, caused heavy traffic congestion around the Civic Centre axis, inward Ozumba Mbadiwe, Victoria Island, Lagos. LASTMA’s caption on the post highlighted the challenges officers face in enforcing traffic regulations and urged motorists to cooperate with law enforcement for smoother traffic flow.

“A motorist resisting arrest from VIO officers has kept under his vehicle thereby creating a scene and avoiding being towed at Akin Adesola inward Ozumba Mbadiwe causing traffic backlog to Civic Centre. VIO officers and Police officers are at the scene as LASTMA officers manage the traffic emanating from the scene.”
