Hosted by Trevor Noah for the sixth year in a row, the 68th Annual Grammy Awards convened on Sunday, February 1, at Los Angeles’ Crypto.com Arena. The ceremony began with Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande securing the Best Pop Duo/Group Performance award for “Defying Gravity.”
It was a landmark night for Kehlani, who captured her inaugural Grammy by winning Best R&B Performance for “Folded,” a track that also claimed the title for Best R&B Song.
In the international spotlight, South African artist Tyla defeated a strong contingent of Nigerian stars—Davido, Burna Boy, and Ayra Starr—to take home the Best African Music Performance trophy. Additionally, industry heavyweights Kendrick Lamar and Lady Gaga enjoyed a successful evening, each walking away with multiple accolades.
