Williams Akporeha Defends Tinubu’s 10.9 Million APC Primary Votes as Genuine

Former labor leader Williams Akporeha insists that President Tinubu’s 10.9 million votes in the APC primary were fairly won through policies focusing on economic growth and worker welfare.

Former Nigeria Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers president Williams Akporeha has dismissed claims that the 10.9 million votes secured by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the recent All Progressives Congress primary election were a mistake. Akporeha asserted that these figures represent a legitimate achievement.

According to Akporeha, the tally reflects the administration’s commitment to improving worker welfare, national productivity, and long-term societal growth. He pointed to specific initiatives, such as the Student Loan Scheme, assistance for small-scale enterprises, and ongoing economic stabilization efforts, as primary reasons for the support.

Speaking as the coordinator of Working People United, Akporeha emphasized that workers across all 8,809 wards and 774 local government areas recognize the president’s dedication. He maintained that the electorate trusts Tinubu to complete the projects he has initiated. Official results confirmed by Anyim Pius Anyim showed Tinubu receiving 10.9 million votes, significantly surpassing his opponent, Stanley Osifo, who received 16,503 votes.
