In Esa-Oke, Osun State, a widow has shared the harrowing account of her husband’s murder. Aderogba Ajayi, an Accord Party member, was fatally shot while his wife, Tolulope Aderogba, looked on. She explained that a man named Oladapo arrived on a motorcycle and tried to lure her husband away to meet an individual called Omoaje, but Ajayi refused the invitation. Despite further pressure regarding a scheduled meeting with politician Wole Oke, Ajayi held his ground.
Shortly after these exchanges, a vehicle arrived at the scene. Two men emerged and fired multiple shots at Ajayi, causing him to fall. Although his wife attempted to move him, she was unable to carry his weight alone, and he was later declared dead at a local hospital. During a visit, Governor Ademola Adeleke committed to paying for the education of the couple’s four children and demanded a full police investigation. The Governor directed Commissioner of Police Ibrahim Gotan to hold those responsible accountable, while urging all local political figures to abandon violence and embrace peace.
