Armed individuals seized two farmers in Parubber Community, located in the Ile-Oluji/Okeigbo area of Ondo State, and have asked for a payment of N100 million for their freedom. The incident occurred Monday when attackers surprised the victims on their land and led them into the bush.
Pastor Yemi Omowale, who escaped the abduction while at his piggery, stated that the captors reached out to the spouse of one victim to demand the money. Omowale has requested urgent government and security intervention to ensure his colleagues return safely.
DSP Jimoh Abayomi, spokesperson for the Ondo State Police Command, verified that local authorities received reports of the missing farmers. A coordinated search effort involving police officers, the Anti-Kidnapping Squad, Amotekun corps, and local hunters has been initiated.
Authorities are currently utilizing intelligence assets to track the suspects and liberate the victims without injury. The police have asked the local community to stay composed and forward any relevant tips that could aid the investigation.
