Tinubu Officially Inaugurates NNPCL Board

President Bola Tinubu has officially sworn in the board and management of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL), seven weeks after their appointment on April 2, 2025.

The ceremony took place Thursday afternoon at the Aso Rock Villa, Abuja, with the board’s Non-Executive Chairman, Ahmadu Kida, and Group Chief Executive Officer, Bashir Ojulari, taking their oaths of office.

Following the swearing-in, President Tinubu proceeded to attend the All Progressives Congress’ National Summit at the State House Banquet Hall.

The newly constituted 11-member board features regional representation from across Nigeria:

Adedapo Segun and Bello Rabiu for the North West

Yusuf Usman for the North East

Babs Omotowa, former Managing Director of Nigeria LNG, for the North Central

Austin Avuru for the South-South

David Ige for the South-West

Henry Obih for the South-East

Additionally, Mrs. Lydia Shehu Jafiya, Permanent Secretary of the Federal Ministry of Finance, serves as the ministry’s representative on the board, while Aminu Ahmed represents the Ministry of Petroleum Resources.

Key government officials present at the event included Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Wale Edun; Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris; and Minister of State for Petroleum (Oil), Senator Heineken Lokpobiri.
