The Nigerian Army has published the list of shortlisted candidates for the Short Service Combatant Commission Course 49/2026, directing successful applicants to report for the Selection Board in Kaduna.
In a statement signed by the Military Secretary (Army), the full shortlist is now accessible on the recruitment portal.
Shortlisted candidates are to report to the Nigerian Defence Academy, Ribadu Campus, on December 1, 2025, and are advised to arrive in Kaduna a day earlier. Anyone who arrives after 11am on December 1 will be automatically disqualified.
Candidates must present original and photocopies of all academic and professional credentials, including NYSC documents, birth certificates, state of origin certificates, BVN, NIN, and all required SSCC forms. They are also expected to come with writing materials, physical training kits, toiletries, beddings, passport photographs, and scratch cards for WAEC or NECO verification.
Parents or guardians must provide a court-endorsed Letter of Consent indicating they will not seek compensation for injuries or death during the exercise.
The selection will involve document screening, physical and medical evaluations, academic tests and oral interviews. The Army cautioned that altered documents will be rejected and that a high level of discipline is mandatory throughout the process.
Candidates will be fed and accommodated but must handle their transportation. Private vehicles and outside visits are not allowed.
The Army noted that, due to the military nature of the exercise, it will not be liable for any injuries or fatalities that may occur.
