Mr. Ella Aji Williams, the Taraba State Coordinator for the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), has confirmed that safeguarding the well-being of corps members is the organization’s primary objective. This statement was shared on Friday during the official swearing-in ceremony for 1,166 participants of the 2026 Batch ‘B’ Stream II Orientation Course, hosted at the Sibre camp in Ardo-Kola.
Williams highlighted that the three-week orientation is essential for fostering national unity and character development. He reminded the new members that they have transitioned into a unified national family, where their resilience and emotional intelligence will be tested. He advised participants to remain disciplined, follow camp regulations, and actively engage in all activities.
The coordinator expressed gratitude toward the North East Development Commission (NEDC) for their infrastructure contributions, specifically the installation of 50 solar street lights and an upcoming high-capacity solar borehole. Furthermore, he encouraged corps members to utilize the Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development (SAED) program to enhance their post-service employability.
Representing Governor Agbu Kefas, the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, John Kizito Bonzena, reiterated the state’s dedication to supporting the corps members. He announced plans for upcoming facility renovations at the orientation camp to ensure a more comfortable and hygienic environment for everyone involved.
