Yoruba activist Sunday Adeyemo, widely known as Igboho, has asserted that bandits are not supernatural entities. During the inauguration of the Iru Ekun Security Network in Kwara State this Thursday, he encouraged young people to actively protect their local areas.
Igboho claimed that bandit operations persist primarily due to assistance and intelligence from individuals living within these communities. He stated that these criminals are mortal and are only successful because of local complicity.
He challenged residents to hold each other accountable, emphasizing that unity among youths is essential to overcoming threats. He issued a stern warning to those aiding criminal activities to cease their actions immediately or face repercussions. Furthermore, he clarified that the new security initiative is not directed at any specific ethnic group like the Fulani, but is strictly intended to neutralize criminal elements within the region.
