After a disappointing initial performance against Southern Brave, the Fire rebounded by posting a tournament-high 177-4. Captain Sophie Devine spearheaded the scoring with 52 runs off 29 balls, while Georgia Wareham remained unbeaten with 43. Em Arlott provided a dramatic finish by hitting the final ball of the innings for six.
MI London struggled significantly in their pursuit, finishing at 117 all out despite their strong roster. Grace Potts was instrumental in the bowling attack, claiming 3-24 during the powerplay and dismantling the opposition’s top order. Devine further solidified the win by taking 2-15, supported by Sophia Smale’s 2-17. This marks the second straight loss for MI London.
In other competition action at Headingley, Southern Brave maintained their undefeated record by defeating Sunrisers Leeds by five wickets. Jemimah Rodrigues hit an unbeaten 42 to rescue the Brave after an early collapse to 36-3. Earlier, Sunrisers Leeds managed only 116, hampered by Issy Wong’s 3-15 bowling figures.
