Members of Operation Hadin Kai remained safe following an incident in Borno State where their Mine-Resistant Ambush Protected vehicle triggered a hidden explosive device. Security commentator Zagazola Makama reported that the blast occurred at 8:50 a.m. on Monday within the Bulabulin region.
During a routine mission to secure supply routes and protect civilians, the lead vehicle of the 19 Battalion/25 Task Force Brigade Garrison encountered the bomb, which investigators believe was set by local insurgents. While the front tires of the MRAP sustained damage, all personnel aboard remained unscathed.
Support units quickly reached the location to assist the team. After the tires were changed, the soldiers successfully finished their assignment. The event serves as a reminder of the persistent danger posed by Boko Haram and ISWAP militants who frequently employ IEDs to ambush security forces and hinder transit across the North-East.
